Joyride to Armageddon ...
Pop! is a story that I wanted to write for a long time before I finally got the chance. The idea was to take a normal person, Queenie, an all-too-common object, a plastic bottle, and create an extraordinary adventure ...
When the secret recipe to the world's favourite fizzy drink, Mac-Tonic, washes up in a bottle at Queenie's feet, her life changes instantly. With a ruthless corporation on her heels and a $10 million bounty on her head, Queenie has no choice but to run. She forms an unlikely friendship along the way, but who else can she trust? Is The Mac-Tonic Corporation really as wicked as it seems? And can she evade capture long enough to make a difference?
Inspired by urban myths, pop culture, and conspiracy theories, Pop! features a man-eating alligator, a trip to Area 51, and a whole host of oddballs and eccentrics. The book is a white-knuckle ride across America, through deserts and swamps and cities: a joyride to Armageddon. It is also a challenge to corporate greed and plastic pollution - a story that shows what can be achieved when individuals take a stand.
Pop! is wild, zany, and (hopefully) very funny. It was certainly a lot of fun to write, and I really hope it's just as much fun to read.
